A Quick Review of Early Care Funding: FY06 Budget Update (June 2005)

The FY 06 early care and education budget in Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) and State Department of Education (SDE) represents an improvement over FY05, increasing 4%. However, total funding proposed for early care initiatives in FY 06 in DSS and SDE is still 11% less than actual funding in FY 02 (even less if adjusting for inflation). (June 2005)
