State of Working Connecticut 2002 (September 2002)

This report, released for the third straight year on Labor Day in partnership with the Economic Policy Institute of Washington DC, summarizes key data about trends in the number and types of jobs, wages, hours worked, unemployment, unionization rates, employee benefits (health insurance, pensions), educational attainment, and income. One key finding: only between 2000 and 2001 did the real wages of Connecticut’s low-wage workers enjoy wage growth, after a decade of declining or stagnating wages over Connecticut’s most prosperous economy in history.(45pp.) (September 2002)
