HUSKY provides health care coverage for more than 328,000 children, parents, pregnant women, and relative caregivers in Connecticut. This brief provides an overview of HUSKY, who it covers, and how it is a smart investment for the state. HUSKY covers one in four children in the state. Spending for children and adults in HUSKY is a modest part of the Medicaid budget. In 2005, children, parents, and pregnant women in HUSKY A accounted for only 23% of all Medicaid costs, even though they made up 75% of all enrollees in Medicaid.
