The FY 07 early care and education budget in the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) and State Department of Education (SDE) budgets, combined, is nearly about 10% more than the FY 06 early care and education budget. However, total funding for early care initiatives in the FY 07 DSS and SDE budgets is still about 2.7% less than actual funding in FY 02 (12% less if adjusted for inflation). (May 2006)
